Andre Trocmé
Andre Trocmé was born on April 7, 1901. Him and his wife Magda were a French couple who helped save many Jews during World War II. When the deportations began in France in 1942, Trocmé urged his congregation to give shelter to any Jew who should ask for it. The village and its outlying areas were quickly filled with hundreds of Jews. Mean while he did this, his wife was actively involved in creating and maintaining this shelter for the persecuted Jews. She even got many Jewish children enrolled in schools so they can study. About 5,000 people were saved by the help of Trocmé and his wife. Trocmé and his wife both faced many problems but they were able to get through it with the help of Trocmé's other family members. Him and his wife both are true heroes.
